I just set up my first keywords via Google Adsense. I don't even know what inspired me to do it. I just clicked on a link and in less than 5 minutes I had an ad at the top of my blog. I had just written about saving the rainforest with Lil Green Patch in Facebook, and I got a public service ad in some way focused on the environment. Crazy!
Now I just need to figure out something to write about which someone would want to read.

Testing the ability to use the "Greenies to Go" functionality
I spend time playing on Facebook these days. One of my favorite apps is L'il Green Patch, where I can send plants to my friends, and someone supposedly donates money to save the rainforest. I have saved 26 square feet of rainforest, and now I get an icon which you see below. Yay, me!

Intro Blog
As I lay awake tonight on my 10th annual 29th birthday -- that's 38 (the math is hard to do) -- I decided once again to try and build a blog. I don't know how successful I will be, as I've never been a prolific writer before. My wife (jendogger the knitblogger) blogs about knitting and is much more the creative type. Her blog can be found at http://jehndi.blogspot.com/. She also maintains a pictorial website about our 4 year old Toby at http://www.jendogger.com. I don't know if this is exactly is a blog since it's mostly pictures.
The last time I started blogging I was writing about training for a marathon. I ran one last year (it seems so long ago), while in parallel following an intense low carb diet. I started at 205 pounds (this is pretty fat if you're 5' 5"), and was about 160 when I finished the training/race in Feb 07. The race I ran was the Birch Bay Marathon and as you can see I finished about two thirds of the way down, at 4:25:39. The first half of the race was fun. My friend Ed Leonard and I ran the first half of the race in 2 hours flat, and things were going well. At the 17 mile mark though, there was this little hill...well, not such a little hill at the time. It was short but steep. I turned on the AC/DC on my iPod Shuffle
and hammered up the hill. I got to the top of the hill quickly, and waited for Ed to join me, as he was going slow and steady...but as I walked at the top of the hill, I found that the tank was empty. The next 9 miles were much tougher than the first 17. I began walking 1 minute and then running 9, and slowly entered a downward spiral until I was lucky to walk 5 and run 5. The last 5 miles were along the Bay, with a headwind blowing in, and a temperature of about 34 degrees. The side of my head grew numb while I was walking, as the wind blew in from the Bay. Long story short though, I came in just under four and a half hours, and can now call myself a marathoner!
I have now managed to undo all the good in the past 15 months, and I enter age 38 back over 200 lbs.
